I work with fragmented themes and place them in a new reference-heavy context. Through an writing based interdisciplinary practice I explore the feeling of being outside society and how emotions are manipulated when subcultures are exposed to the transformative forces.

I explore the creatures of folklore as a queer entity.
In my BA I’m talking about events, stereotypes and figures the fashion industry through the lens of Scandinavian folklore. As much as it can be experienced as a criticism and ridicule: it is also an honor. A tribute: from slow moose hunting days in heavy rain: to sweating front row influencers in a warehouse without air conditioning. I draw parallels to a trollified queerness. If you are powerless, you are teleported into the fucked–up-queer-coded-monster-infested-forrest-universe.

My practice is strongly based on writing, it is not high culture, it is oral, passed on from generations. When is something still queer? When does folklore become a minority? And what happens in a trollification of a queer

The project took physical form when I was 16
years old, sitting in my room in Southern
Norway, with a strong urge to express myself
through everything visually. I had a pink
blanket my mother had knitted on my lap while
I googled “am I a girl”, “Why do I feel so
alone”, “can I be a girl with a dick”. When I
had searched everything without finding an
answer, I looked down at the blanket that I
had destroyed in frustration. I didn’t want
my mother to be mad so I started draping and
tying it into a dress. It was only then that I
didn’t need an answer to what I was wondering,
I could just wonder, and that is why I was, am
and will not be alone.
